Excellent two day PTSD Masterclass. Great opportunities to be involved in 'live' clinical case discusions, along with lots of opportunities to apply the techniques shown to a clinical case where the client was played by an actor. This style and method of training was a great way to help the consolidation of learning and skill development.

Very engaging, experiential and powerful learning experience, which I’ve been able to apply in my work with patients in the weeks since this training. Heather really brings to life and imparts a depth of understanding of key concepts and interventions. I feel much more confident in working with trauma.

An extraordinary amount of neuroscientific detail, made readily accessible. Provides such an important rationale to why we might suggest what can sometimes seem like relatively simple interventions (e.g., specific forms of breathing or enhancing social connections). This training was wonderful! Heather is obviously so knowledgable about the field and really explains things an accessible way which can be used with clients too. A beautiful balance of information, examples and time for reflection. This was a thorough, in depth and practical workshop covering all aspects of working well and competently with traumatised clients. In depth rationale and drawing on sharing the trauma neuroscience appropriately with clients too. The use of an actor role playing a client was fantastic and really brought this training to life and gave participants the opportunity to try out their skills and knowledge. A very worthwhile training to ensure therapists have the skills to work well with knowledge and competence.

Excellent clear training which takes you through understanding trauma and the brain, formulating with the client and then how to process trauma using TF CBT. The use of the actor in the session gives you a really helpful demonstration of how to actually do therapy, better than traditional role play formats. It was a great refresher of previous training I have done and I really like the way Heather integrates different ideas and models into working with PTSD which builds on the traditional CBT model. I am planning on doing the follow on workshop on complex PTSD to explore further how to apply the ideas when working with more complex clients

Dr Heather delivers this training in an engaging and practical way. Utilising real life examples to ground learnings. What I found particularly valuable was having the opportunity to witness Dr Heather apply the theory, in a scenario with an actor. Being taught theory is useful but being taught how to put that theory to use by example, is invaluable!

This was an extremely informative and helpful workshop. It gives a wealth of understanding into working with PTSD and techniques to use with clients. The small role plays within the main group give a real world sense to the learning and the actor scenario which is gone through on day 2 to show the techniques in action is absolutely fantastic and really helps contextualise the learning and make it really cement in!! I would absolutely recommend this workshop to anyone wanting more information or more confidence in working with PTSD and trauma. Dr Heather is a warm, engaging, and supportive teacher and the environment is a safe one to really have a go and put the learning into action!

Very clear, methodical process, adapted to the needs of our small group of 10. The actor brought the process to life and observing chunks of his 'therapy' was key to understanding how to use the model in action.

Such a fantastic session, and Heather is incredibly experienced and approachable. I learnt so much from this one-day session that I will use forever with my clients. Lovely group of people in the group and the day felt really well structured. I'll be back for more sessions with Heather, I feel lucky to have found her!

This is a fantastic course and setup perfectly for a day of insightful and challenging training. Heather is brilliant at blending theory and practice, and for anyone serious about working with trauma I believe this (along with all the other unique modules offered) enhance the foundation of working with the complex cases and presentations one can expect from a history of trauma.
