Dr Heather Sequeira: Consultant Psychologist
FIERCELY NON-PATHOLOGISING & EMPIRICALLY DRIVEN
Truly transformative interactive workshop - both professionally and personally.
Dr Heather’s calm confidence and deep, demonstrated knowledge created a grounded and trustworthy learning environment from start to finish. She has an exceptional ability to take highly complex concepts and distil them into clear, accessible language without losing clinical precision. This made the material both comprehensible and immediately applicable.
What made the experience especially powerful was the sage, non-judgmental space she held throughout. Her gentle guidance encouraged reflection, curiosity, deeper understanding and meaningful integration.
I came away feeling supported, inspired, and better equipped to work with complexity in trauma. I would wholeheartedly recommend this workshop to anyone seeking high-quality trauma education delivered with compassion and clarity.
This was an excellent day of PTSD training. Heather is highly effective at communicating complex concepts in very understandable ways and demonstrates clear ways to communicate with clients. The role play exercise in ‘show not tell’ was such good experiential learning. I got so much out of this training and thought it excellent value for money. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
A highly insightful workshop by a highly talented facilitator. Every person within the justice system needs to be exposed to experiential trauma training by experts like Heather. The justice system needs to have a full understanding of trauma and the state-sanctioned trauma it is responsible for imposing on victim-survivors of domestic, s"xual and gender based violence.
Very clear and engaging training. Provided me with a lot of thought provoking material. Thoroughly recommended.
The content of this day long workshop were fascinating and presented by Dr Sequeira in an accessible and engaging way, as usual! I have already successfully used some of the suggested demonstrations to illustrate complex neuroscience to clients in order to demystify and help them make sense of, as well as validate, some of the aspects of trauma that they are struggling with. A great course that can be used practically in a therapeutic setting.
Excellent training. Content was shared in an accessible and engaging way, with a focus on how it serves our clients. Feel that I have updated and enhanced my knowledge. Would highly recommend and hope to attend some of the other workshops in the future.
I really enjoyed this training. I felt a bit out dated in my knowledge so this was a great way to get up to date. All the content felt relevant, even the complicated bits around neurotransmitters! Heather is very engaging and encouraged questions and comments.
This was an outstanding class connecting the dots between the contemporary applied neuroscience and therapeutic interventions in complex trauma and trauma . There really is something for all practitioners at different levels of experience. I couldn’t recommend more highly .
This was my second training with Heather; the first being the PTSD Masterclass some years ago. The online workshop was presented in a very engaging way and Heather elicited questions, reflections and feedback from the participants. There were about 16 of us in the room, which enabled us to unmute and contribute freely to the topics. The material was relevant to clinical practice and contained easy to remember and easily accessible metaphors which I will be able to use with clients. I would definately recommend this workshop and will be booking onto another 2 day training next.
Right from the first session I felt fully engaged — the pacing, the clarity of presentation, and the depth of the material all exceeded my expectations.
What stood out most:
The way Heather linked neuroscience, biology and attachment theory was so good. I now better understand how developmental trauma truly lives in the body and brain.
The live-actor role-plays and interactive small-group discussions were a real highlight. Watching professional demonstrations and then having the chance to pause, reflect, ask questions and role play ourselves!
Practical, actionable tools were provided — not just theory. Breathwork, posture interventions, somatic awareness, strategies to regulate dissociation — these were things I can integrate into my practice.
The environment felt safe, respectful and deeply professional. Heather clearly knows her stuff and created a space where questions, reflection and vulnerability were all valued.
The mix of evidence-based research + real-world applicability gave me confidence. I left the workshop with new insight, new energy, and fresh ideas for how to work with clients who have complex trauma histories.
Thank you to the entire team for such a rich, inspiring, and powerful experience. I’m very grateful I attended and I’ll be recommending this to colleagues.
This is the second course of Dr Heather’s that I have attended, and I have taken away so many insights and tools that I will use in my practice with clients. The way the course is taught is very intimate, which allows room for interactions between participants to share their own knowledge and expand further on the topic. I highly recommend this course to anyone supporting people who have experienced trauma in their lives
Heather delivers an outstanding training experience that is both in-depth and engaging, with genuine clarity. She offers a nuanced perspective on trauma while creating a truly interactive and insightful learning environment. The topics covered are highly valuable for any professional looking to deepen their understanding and strengthen their trauma-informed practice. Heather takes the time to explain foundational concepts, explore the biological and social dimensions of trauma, and encourage reflections and discussion. Ensuring you gain maximum benefit from the session. The role-play element, featuring a professional actor, was also truly unique and amazing. Allowing you to practice the skills and apply concepts in a safe, explorative and reflective environment.
I could not recommend this course highly enough and look forward to attending more of Heather’s trainings in the future!
This training was informative with up to date research and knowledge. Heather is engaging and highly skilled as a clinician and presenter. The training was interactive with Heather demonstrating clinical skills in working with people who experience flashbacks and dissociation. I highly recommend this training.
I really enjoyed the combination of Heather's extensive expertise combined with the practical work we did with the actor. It was lovely to be in such a safe, supportive environment with the perfect blend of challenge and encouragement. Thankyou Heather! :-)
One of the most compelling CPD workshops I’ve attended. Every section offered something that made me stop and think, ‘I never knew that.’ The content blends neuroscience, attachment, and trauma theory in a way that’s both evidence-based and easy to apply. I came away with memorable insights, key research to draw on, and a deeper understanding of complex trauma that I can genuinely use in practice. It’s the kind of training that i genuinely feel raises my clinical game.
